Best of Maui Issue: Maui Time Weekly

Sifting through all the garbage offerings from freebie publications on Maui is a major hassle. All masquerade as true editorial -- 101 Things to Do on Maui, or Maui Menu's or whatever. Maui Time, however, is a true-blue alt weekly that does a fine job covering happenings on the Valley Isle. It's annual "Best of" issue is a must read for visitors (and locals, truth be told). Its a great barometer of what Mauians are saying, doing, eating, drinking, et cetera. The most recent one came out two weeks ago and has some nifty nuggets. My faves.
* Best Lunch: Makena Grill in Makena
* Best Local Food: Da Kitchen in Kihei
* Best Hike: Polipoli Redwoods
