Box Jellyfish Bummer

A particularly bad box jellyfish invasion has struck Waikiki. Bummer, as the South Shore is just starting to light up with the new swell. These jellyfish are a regular visitor to the southern and leeward shores of the Hawaiian islands with Waikiki seeming to bear the brunt of their visitations. Here's a quick explanation from the City and County of Honolulu Lifeguards Website.
Box jellyfish, Carybdea alata and Carybdea rastonii, regularly swarm to Hawaii's Leeward shores 9 to 10 days after the full moon. Affected areas include Waikiki Beach, Ala Moana Beach Park, as well as Hanauma Bay, and may also include ocean areas and beach front up to and including the Wai`anae Coast.
Antidote? Pick out the tentacles and does with vinegar, says the guards.
