I never would have imagined a North Shore break was named after lost dentures.
One of our favorite Hawaii journalists, Catherine Toth, wrote a cool article covering the origins of names for surf spots on Oahu. As any surfer knows, inscrutable names for surf breaks usually have great stories behind them. Toth only covers a handful, which actually made me want to learn more about the other ones (especially since I have ridden waves at many of these places). Highly reccomended read for surfers on Oahu or visitors curious about these places. I never would have imagined a North Shore break was named after lost dentures.
