Why: Do you really need to ask? If you must, the endless blue Pacific pulsing against a black lava landscape and the sea caves of Keahou Bay, kaleidescopic sunsets like clockwork, the biggest sky you've ever seen.
Drink: Crystal Blue Martini
Crowd: None. It's not really a bar as much as a small number of tables and chairs set in the cavernous, open-air lobby of this South Kona resort. Which for me, is totally fine. I prefer the quiet. And no one notices when the urge to get a room strikes you and your partner suddenly.
