Food is visual and Hawaii food, due to the bright colors of the tropical palate, is more visual than most. Traditional food reviews try to paint a picture with words and perhaps add an image or two. Ono Kine Grindz stands that model on its head. It's reviews have numerous pictures and the words, while they are there also, exist more as back-up. I love this site because it shows me what the food looks like, which for me is very critical. Sure, sloppy food can taste good and look awful. But pride of presentation tends to signify care of preparation. Ono Kine Grindz is a spiffy site that is easy to read. And Reid, for an amateur, is a damn good food photog. I highly reccomend trolling through this blog to find restaurants that Reid has visited and shutterbugged. He's in Tokyo now but we hope he will pick up the blog pace upon his return.
