Asiaphile shopaholics tend to lose their minds in Honolulu. You can buy hard-to-find purple chinese clay teapots from Taiwan, rare antique Japanese tansu chests, and jade of all shapes and shades. There's also a ton of nifty east-meets-west fusion shops. One of my favorites is Cina Cina Hawaii. Whenever I am in the Royal Hawaiian Hotel in Waikiki, I walk through this shop to gape at the simple, understated Umano beads and to check out the dainty purses from Japan, China and Italy. Whoever buys for this small, beautiful shop has exquiste taste. That's why I won't let my wife shop there.
