I got a chance to sample this insanely delish sauce from Ali'i Kula Lavender at the Hawaii Products Expo in August. Ali'i Kula is an 8 acre lavender farm in Upcountry Maui. Full disclosure. I'm a chocomaniac. And I'm not easily impressed with new types of chocolates (I guess you could say that ever since I discovered Michel Cluizel, I've been kinda spoiled). But this stuff is the real deal. The lavendar flavor comes through quite nicely without being overly floral. I would not put this over any type of ice cream except vanilla, however. And I'd buy a double helping because (personally) I would not really be into sharing this stuff. They do have tours and a shop where you can do tastings for those lucky enough to get up to the farm in fabulous Kula. I don't know much about the tours but I'm tempted to try the other foods they are selling like lavender honey.
