Lodestar Collective--one of the most interesting galleries to spring from Kailua’s newly revitalized art scene--may just be the closest thing Hawaii has to a couture house (through November 11, anyway). The gallery is co-owned by six local artists--Carl F.K. Pao, Aaron Padilla, Diana Sanchez, Maika'i Tubbs, KC Grennan, and Daven Hee--each with their own specialty (from ceramics to painting). Every month, Lodestar hosts a show of new artwork.

This month’s theme is “Wearable Art,” and features handmade, one-of-a-kind clothing and accessories created with nontraditional materials, such as packing tape, paint, and glue. Any of these exceptional pieces would make a great addition to either your wardrobe or your art collection, which is definitely not something you could say of other gallery shows.
