I am a cocktail fiend. I never drink more than two at a sitting, but I do savor them. And I don't get to drink them as often as I'd like these days. But Hawaii, and Oahu in particularly, has a become a font of cocktail innovation of late. We've been detailing some of this with our often interrupted cocktail recipes and cool bar updates. But the Honolulu Advertiser, which has the time, money and resources to do this full time - and they did a beautiful job in this article (tons of cool pics) on local signature cocktails. They also test the on-the-fly mixmaster skills of several barkeeps at local notable elbow bending joints. It's certainly an enticement to go out and partake.
