Yet again, our friends at Hapa Hale spot an extremely cool fetish from the islands. Bathys Hawaii designs watches on Kauai and has a custom Swiss watchmaker build them to exacting specs. Kauai resident John Patterson is behind the Bathys line, which he designed to handle the huge climatic variations that are Hawaii, from 13,000 feet altitude atop Mauna Kea to 100 feet below sea level diving for Black Coral of Maui. The watches are very sleek and chic -- turn them over and you'll find a relief of the Hawaiian Islands chain. These are not cheap baubles so be prepared for mild sticker shock ($400, minimum) though with top quality timepieces, you get what you pay for.
