Hummer Tours in Hawaii: Ugly, Ugly, Ugly
Where: Oahu || Grouped in: Oahu Nature || Tagged:
Living in Hawaii, you learn to hate really big cars. All the parking spaces are for compacts so SUVs mean bashed paint jobs, suck-in-the-tummy egress, and tricky manuvers to fit between two of the behemoths. Hummers take this to a different plane of pain. Which is why I was pleased to see pop-culture travel blog Jaunted call out KOS Hawaii for its Hummer tour offerings on Oahu. KOS offers movie set tours on the Kualoa Ranch, a massive property on the Windward side of Oahu where a bunch of movies have been shot including Jurassic Park, 50 First Dates, and Godzilla. Of course, you can see all these same spots on a mountain bike tour or, even better, on horseback. But why, oh why, would you want to put out your cigar and actually smell the air? (note to KOS, also: it's Ko'olau, not Ko'lau as your Website says).
*Additional Note: The guys from KOS emailed me to let me know that the Websit that says Ko'lau is not their, and that they can spell, thanks. My apologies. I wish everyone could spell. Maybe they could do their tours in a diesel LandRover instead and save the environment?
