Manuheali’i: Fashion-Forward Island-Inspired Clothing
Where: Oahu || Grouped in: Oahu Shopping || Tagged:
What comes to mind when you think of aloha print clothing? Loud colors? Busy patterns? Boxy aloha shirts and unflattering muumuus? While this may have been the case in the ‘60s, Hawaii’s fashion industry has come a long way since then. Pono and Danene Lunn—the husband and wife team behind Manuheali’i—have been creating tasteful, innovative local designs since 1985. Since then, their business has expanded to include two locations (one in Kailua and another in Honolulu) and a website. Kamaaina make up much of Manuheali’i’s clientele, but discerning tourists from all corners of the world have also made the label their first choice when it comes to Hawaii clothing. And no wonder, with the fresh, spirited prints, high-quality fabrics, and reasonable prices that are company’s trademarks. Make sure to check them out either in-store or online the next time you have an appetite for garments with an island flavor.
