Well, they ought to know. Cheap Tickets is all about cheap travel. Cheap Tickets was founded in Hawaii. And if the Cheap Ticket's 2007 Value Travel Forecast Cheapometer predicts hotels in Hawaii will be at their cheapest in May, you can bet they've done their homework! May is the classic shoulder-season travel time. Kids are still in school so no family travel. Summer travel hasn't picked up. And its getting warm back East so those fleeing the weather have already fled. May in Hawaii is actually quite nice. Big winter waves are largely gone, so swimming on idyllic North Shore beaches on Kauai and Oahu is far more mellow. It hasn't started to get humid yet (at least, not for Hawaii). So if I were a travel agent, I'd say May is a good bet.
