Hawaii Edibles: Elmer Guzman's Xmas Poke Delivery Service
Where: Statewide || Grouped in: Statewide Food || Tagged:
Why is it that poke made outside of Hawaii just isn't poke? It doesn't taste like poke. It doesn't feel like poke. How about if the ingredients come from Hawaii? Hmmm, might work. Elmer Guzman, Poke master and owner of "The Poke Stop" eaterie in downhome Waipahu (say why-pah-hooo!) on the Western side of Oahu recently started selling 2.5 pound poke kits that can fix a Hawaii poke jones on the West Coast (alas, fresh poke mixings can't go to the East Coast yet). Add the green limu to the bright red sashimi-grade ahi and its beginning to look at lot like Christmas. Kits run roughly $28.

Alas, I don’t live on the west coast so I can’t get Chef Elmer Guzman’s poke delivered, but I could make some myself if I could find out where to order the limu (ogo)! I’ve got all the other ingredients. Can anyone point me in the right direction so I can get my poke fix?? Mahalo!
