Main Street Bistro in Wailuku

We've been hearing good things about the Main Street Bistro in Wailuku, the sleepy county seat of the Valley Isle. Wailuku has been threatening a revival and it has enjoyed an influx of refugees from overpriced resort towns and Honolulu. The food scene appears to be following along. Chef Tom Selman is putting a slightly refined twist on comfort food standars like home made ketchup from Maui-grown tomatoes with Maui onion rings and slow-cooked baby back ribs glazed with poha berry honey mustard. Selman has serious chops: he was formerly executive chef at the highly regarded David Paul's Lahaina Grill. This restaurant is so underground I couldn't even find an image of it on the Web, so get there before the media and the crowds do. It's also a perfect antidote to resort dining overload in nearby Wailea.
