A long-running Italian casual fave in Kaimuki appears to have shuttered. C&C Pasta brought me many a good meals over the years. Am not sure what owner Carla is up to as another Italian restaurant is opening in the space. Did she sell or is this next one her's as well? A poorly kept secret is that Yanni's in Restaurant Row is on the block. This probably portends closure, which is sad as Honolulu has no other high-end Greek eateries and the pizzas at Yanni's were fab.

Yes, it will be sad to see the only brick-oven pizzas go by the wayside.
Another closure: This is the last month to get laulau plates and delicious chili at Masa’s Massive Plate Lunch on the corner of Liliha and Kuakini. Wah!

Yanni’s can’t close soon enough. Poor lighting (they hand you a flashlight), horrible selection, here is the quote from the waiter “it would be easier if we told you what we do have today” followed by “we only have two beer selections since we did not receive our shipment.” The “Zues feast” was enough to feed you and your hamster, provided the hamster was not hungry. When I asked what the selection of dips was that the waiter brought we got “I dunno” with a shrug of the shoulders. Plates were not cleared and we wound up stacking them on the next table which was okay since we were the only ones in there. The topper was when we were asked if we wanted a desert menu (the “feast” was supposed to include desert). All in all, one of the worst dining experiences of my life, a real shame since it was the last one that my wife and I enjoyed before she deployed to Iraq. Not even a shot of uzo to make the pain easier to take. And did I mention the prices are stupid expensive for the service and food?
