After posting a note that Hawaiian music legend Eddie Kamae can be seen playing out regularly at the Elk's Club in Waikiki, two readers (and friends) wrote in or commented to tell me that actually there's a whole lot more of Eddie going around. From Lesa Griffith, the able dining and nightlife editor at the features section of the Honolulu Advertiser:

"You can also see Uncle Eddie (with Mike Kaawa crew) at Honey's at Koolau Country Club every Sunday afternoon."

True dat! John Heckathorn, the local food maven and three dot guru for the Star-Bulletin (as well as editor of Hawaii Magazine) went to see Eddie play and wrote that he's actually playing on Tuesday and Friday evenings, rather than just Tuesdays as I had lamely reported. So more reason to go listen to a living legend.
