Volcano Radio: Red Hot Podcast, Island Flavor

I've been remiss in multiple ways. First, sorry for the long hiatus. I was travelling and in New York City. My fingers have thawed out and its time to resume. Second, I've been remiss in not mentioning my friend Stewart Yerton's nifty new podcast, Volcano Radio. Stewart is a former reporter at the Star-Bulletin who's since struck out on his own. He's a fine storyteller and his is the first truly professional podcast covering Hawaii. It's tourism centered but not the usual crap espousing the spirt of aloha and other beyond trite cliches. Stewart is not afraid to tell it like it is in a style that's a combintation of "This American Life" and Emme's "Island Moments." Here's a description of one of the first episodes.
Marsha Kapu plays washtub bass and talks about cultural programs at the new Wyndham Waikiki Beach Walk. Photographer Nick Pugay tells what it's like to get caught inside the break at Pipeline without a surfboard. Chris Watson describes Waikiki's beginner-friendly surf spots. And Jason Asbra of the Four Seasons Manele Bay mixes the perfect margarita.
He's managed to post one per week, which I can tell you is a huge accomplishment. Do check it out and give Stewart a shout-out or (better still) linkage if you can.
