I wrote a trend piece earlier this week on standup paddle surfing. Lo, what appears in my inbox but a note from a local PR firm pointing out that instructructors at Action Sports Maui ($109 per person for two hours of instruction) and Hawaiian Surfing Adventures ($45 per hour for instruction) are now offering lessons in standup paddle surfing. Thanks! Both of these outfits have been around for years, although the paddle surfing portion is a new offering. Does this mean you can be like Laird and Titus? Um, not yet. But you can pretend to be!
