Shark Bites Swimmer on Maui's Keawakapu Beach: She's OK

A California visitor snorkeling in the shallow waters off a popular Kihei beach was attacked by a shark yesterday, according to Honolulu Star-Bulletin.. She's fine, having suffered lacerations to her foot and calf. In fact, Hat tip to the folks on the beach who applied a tourniquet.This was the third attack on South Maui beaches in recent years, none of which have been fatal. While on the subject, I wanted to point y'all to Sharkland, a PBS "Nature" series currently running. It's a fascinating look at the shark-rich South African coastlines but also covers some sharks we know quite well in Hawaii, like the Tiger and Galapagos.
