Hawaii - Continental Airlines Codeshare: Few Tix On Offer

Like many folks in Hawaii, I was excited when Continental and Hawaiian Airlines announced a code sharing agreement and that frequent flier miles holders would be able to book tickets on Hawaiian using Continental miles and vice versa. I was stoked because I have a ton of Continental miles but Hawaiian has many more West Coast destinations and flights off the rock. Reality kinda bites.

In trying to book a flight on Hawaiian with Continental miles during three non-peak periods (not even close to holidays or vacations) I was shut down. The reason? Continental reservations agents said Hawaiian has made very few frequent flier seats available to Continental customers. Sigh. Yo, Hawaiian. Lighten up, Kimo!
