Hawaii Volcano Update: HAVO Rangers Reopen Chain of Craters Road

After a spate of small temblors and some lava flow shifts that left vulcanologists chasing the orange stuff and generally scratching their heads as to what would happen next, the good folks at HAVO have reopened the solitary traffic artery traversing the live lava fields on the southern flank of Kilauea. Lava viewing, however, is a day-by-day thing and much curtailed from the steady flows of the past decade. I am not sure if night hikes out over the laval are running but I suspect they are also day-to-day and probably not running at all, at this point.
