Fellow blogger Leslie, who resides on the Big Island and has a pro blogging gig for primo local veggie provider Hamakua Springs, has a funny post with an insiders take to the Indiana Jones hullabaloo that hit Hilo last week with Spielberg, Ford, Lucas and others filming the fourth flick in the series at an undisclosed location along the Hamakua Coast. Leslie's hubbie actually was contracted to serve as the personal chef for Ford and his ladyfriend Calista Flockhart during the duration of he filming, roughly a week. The details? Ford shared a $4,500 bottle of wine with her hubbie. Ford and Calista were both low-key and very nice. Calista loved being able to go to Wal-Mart and not get hassled. And Leslie's hubbie whipped up a surprise 65th B-day party for Ford at Calista's request. Lucas, Spielberg, John Hurt, Cate Blanchette and others attended and the grub was from Hilo's premier hole-in-the-wall Thai joint, Naung Mai. If the good word about Hilo spreads, this low-key bayside town could turn into the next alt celeb destination! Thanks for the scoops, Leslie!
