I am not sure if this is a really good idea or a horrible idea. Do you really want your child to see you bend that super pricey Big Bertha around a tree? For families with the max zen factor, the Turtle Bay Resort on Oahu's North Shore is holding a Nike Parent/Child Golf School. Minimum age is 7 and the event is geared towards family foursomes or twosomes. Each foursome gets three hours of personalized instruction from Turtle Bay's crack pro team in the morning with no more than a 4:1 ratio. In the afternoon, the family hits the links with the pros riding herd for a nine-hole playing lesson. Participants can finish out the course or call it day after the playing lesson. Game coverage includes pitching, chipping, putting, bunker play, and the full swing. In the afternoons, following lunch, each foursome enjoys a nine-hole playing lesson where the emphasis is on course management, shot selection and strategy. Cost is $495 per person. August 24-25.
