Local surf diva Catharine Lo has long scribed for the Honolulu Weekly, Oahu's "alt press" entry. Not too long ago she rolled out Mixed Plate Special, a Webzine that covers a whole lot more ground. She's got choke arts and culture pieces as well as a really healthy dose of surfing articles and profiles. The restaurants reviews are growing and give an everyman's perspective. Some of the personalities she touches on I had never heard of or read about. I am not sure about her production schedule but it seems to be fast and furious. Note: this more of a weekly / news pub and does not specifically cater to visitors but there's plenty to learn. I'll be following it as Lo keeps building it out. Mahalo, CLo for bringing it on.
