I am a huge fan of Farecast.com, a sight that predicts airfare trends (and can help you save a lot of money by timing your buys). Farecast also is doing hotels and they are comparing past rates to current offerings to spot good deals. This is a potential goldmine for bargains. Alas, in Waikiki, the bargains are at second-tier (but still respectable properties). The biggies are holding on price with average price offerings but not great deals. The names Farecast likes are the Pualeilani Studios, the Pacific Beach Hotel, and the Waikiki Marina Resort. None are centrally located but the prices, all below $200 per night, are definitely right. .
