Oh, gotta love the hoi polloi over at TA for their wacky restaurant rankings. Compadre's Bar and Grill ranked 4th on the island of Oahu, beating out La Mer (the peerless and pricey French classic at the Halekulani) and Alan Wong's. Compadre's is a great party bar. A world-class restaurant that regularly ranks among the best in the country (like La Mer and Alan Wong's) it is not. Trip Advisor readers might do best asking a local rather than relying on wacky rankings. All IMHO, of course.

I am a travel agent in Hawaii It’s not just the restaurants that get a bad rap on TA, we get calls almost everyday from people who see stuff there and these thing are just not true or so over dramatized. Recently a guy posted on TA that the elevator’s were too far from his room, and said, call he could see was a mountain, which was diamond head. GAWD!!!! Please keep up the great work here, we’re big fans!!!
