Kauai Gets More Good Grinds: Merriman's to Open in Poipu

The Garden Isle has some good restaurants but generally lacks fine dining. Might come with the lack of development. Whatever the case, Hawaii farm-fresh-to-table savant Peter Merriman will be opening a new joint near Poipu as part of a massive development. He's already sussing out sourcing. On the Big Island, Merriman sources 90% of his product from local farmers, quite impressive even today. He'll also open a simpler Medi-Hawaii themed cafe, similar to the one in Waikoloa. Will look forward to eating there in two years.
