Kokua Festival -- perhaps the least-known, best music festival in the country. Best of all, you can take surf breaks between (musical) sets -- the Waikiki Shell was a five minute walk from big surf during the 2008 fest. And all for a good cause.

Once you leave a concert at the Shell, that’s it. You can’t get back in.
Don’t know anyone who has done the “surf break” thing that you describe.
