The Valley Isle has the dubious distinction of the highest gas prices in the country and the first place regularly eclipsing the $4 mark. Kauai is following right there behind them. Gas in Hawaii has always been pricey and its now floating a full 50 cents, roughly, above national average. Think it over before booking that SUV rent-a-car, folks.
