Long Overdue Food Review Roundup

I've been lazy and busy. Here are a few. Honolulu Magazine doesn't like much to eat on Lewers Street in Waikiki. Hawaii Magazine brings us a feature on Maui's hottest green brewery Maui Time Weekly on Kahuna Kabobs in Lahaina and five big salad places. And I can personally recommend Nanea Restauant and Bar at the newly opened Kauai Westin Princeville Resort and Villas. I ate there last weekend. Very nice, clean food. A solid seared ahi tempura and a delicious beets salad. The cocktail list is fab -- food and bev director Todd Oldham actually mixed the recipes in his kitchen at home and supplies kumquats for one of the libations. The only weak spot is dessert, where offerings are somewhat standard but I suspect they'll be buffing that out soon.

Thought I’d mention the delious huli huli chicken, which your Hawaii blog visitors might not yet know about. Just driving by a Huli Huli chicken barbeque stand and smell of the flavorful meat is a mouth watering experience and temptation, which hardly any Hawaii visitor can resist. Aloha, Pua from the Big Island
