All go! Passengers -- Make Alternative Plans, CFO Steps Down
Where: Oahu || Grouped in: Oahu Any Kine || Tagged:
And more somber news. The interim CFO of Mesa Airlines stepped down yesterday. Mesa is the parent of go!, the interisland carrier that helped drive Aloha out of business with low, low fares. There have been many questions about Mesa's finances after Delta tried to cancel a major contract with the parent company that sent shares into a tailspin. Mesa's CEO has said Hawaii service would not be interrupted. Um, you mean not until the bankers shut off the credit spigot? As Wall Street watchers know, any time a CFO steps down " to pursue other opportunities" bad things follow. If you have a go! ticket, be prepared to scramble. We've been there before, folks.

Yo Alex
I’m loving Hawairama, but what does all this madness with Mesa mean?
I’ll be there in March 2009 and have already booked Mesa to fly from the Big Island to Kauai. Am I screwed?
Great blog, mon. Hope our paths can cross.
Cheers,

In a nutshell, you might be screwed. It’s hard to predict what will happen. When a company CFO bails, its usually bad news. Hawaiian is the most stable option at this point.
