The dearth of classy, contemporary boites in Lahaina, Maui has long been a sore spot. You could belly up to the bar at a nice restaurant (Lahaina Grill, Pacific'O, Mala) but tipplers seeking appropriate launching pads for evening libations faced nasty choices among reams of tourist bars. Enter Lahaina Mai-Tai Lounge, a restaurant that is plenty touristy but classy enough to pass for something you'd send your NYC friends to. Menu is heavy on Mai Tais, of course. Unsure if the food is good but it sure would be a purty place to pack them in. This is up their with Lahaina General Store but a bit simpler and easier on the wallet.
