Hawaii Superferry Ridership Rises to 40% - High Airfares Pushing More to Boat

The numbers are rising steadily as the much maligned Superferry entices more to take the interisland jaunt over water. Hawaii Superferry Blog points out that the numbers are still not high enough to be profitable so we'll see how long they can hang on with tourism arrivals plunging. The cheap rate on cars ($65 ow) has certainly helped). The seasickness, apparently, is still a problem in rough weather. You can buy some onboard, of course. I'm not getting on board with family in tow yet. Have you? Any thoughts on the trip?

When the Ferry started last May, I assume there is a positive economic upturn for Maui. Was there a study made for that? Now, that the farmers on Maui are looking toward supplying Oahu with fresh produce, the future looks good for both Islands.
