Fyndhawaii.com is something we contemplated for a while. At first I was doing this as a Hawaii-centric search engine but had troubled tuning it the way I wanted. Then along came Twitter. I wanted to figure out a way to create a real-time stream of deals / things to do in Hawaii that was moderated and not the usual Twitter clutter and self-promotion.

Ergo, FyndHawaii.com What we did was create five Twitter streams (one for all islands, one for each major island) and set up a Web interface that would allow merchants to upload tweets to those Twitter accounts through our database and interface. We moderate the stream to keep quality high. You get great deals and enjoyment. Questions?
